Natural Home Remedies

There are a number of simple home remedies that can be put together from ingredients that are found around your house. They are able to effectively treat everything from acne to hair loss. What are these simple home remedies?

Bad breath can be dealt with by taking two teaspoons of crushed caraway seeds, dousing them with two hundred and fifty millilitres of boiling water. Allow it to draw for ten minutes before straining. Drink this concoction in small mouthfuls at the normal meal times.

For gum inflammation or ulceration, place one heaped tablespoonful of dried blueberries into one cup of boiled water. Heat and simmer for ten minutes and then strain. Use this mixture as a mouth rinse every hour. Sage leaves are a good alternative to dried blueberries.

If you suffer from hayfever use the grass from your lawn after it has grown long and is pollinating. Make regular infusions and drink one cup of it on a daily basis. The grass is effective either fresh or dried. Ideally start this process about two months before you expect your symptoms to begin.

Pus filled wounds can also be alleviated by the use of horseradish. Use a cold decoction of one hundred grams of grated horseradish, followed by an application of cool honey that has already been heated in a double-boiler to sterilise it.

If you suffer from minor skin blemishes a useful remedy is to use horseradish. Boil one hundred grams of grated horseradish with half a litre of milk. Strain it and allow it to cool and then rub on the skin.

For acne, dermatologists recommend the use of lavender oil for moderate forms of the condition. Use a cotton bud to dab individual spots with the oil several times each day. Other skin irritations can be reduced by using avocado to make a soothing mask for the areas of irritation. Mix the avocado pulp with one teaspoon of goat’s milk or sunflower oil and one teaspoon of goat’s milk yoghurt, and apply it to the skin. Leave it for fifteen minutes and then wash it off.

When suffering from dandruff combine twenty five millilitres of oil of burdock root with one egg yolk and one teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Massage the mixture into the scalp and leave it on overnight. Rinse it out the next morning.

Hair loss can be alleviated by whisking one egg yolk five tablespoonfuls of olive oil and ten table spoonfuls of rum. Massage this mixture into your scalp and cover with a shower cap. Leave it on overnight and rinse it out in the morning. Alternatively, massage your scalp frequently with an infusion that has been made stinging nettle leaves or lavender.

For tired eyes, pour one litre of boiling water over four tablespoonfuls of German chamomile flowers and allow it to draw for ten minutes. Place your face over the hot mixture and feel the rising steam on your closed eyes.

If you have sticky eyes, smear curd cheese (room temperature) onto your closed eyes and leave it on for fifteen minutes. Wash the cheese off with liquid mixture made up of one tablespoonful of honey boiled up in two cups of filtered water. Allow to cool. Dunk balls of cotton wool, one at a time into the lukewarm liquid and use it to cleanse the eyes and lids.

Dry lips can be relieved by the simple cucumber. Cut the vegetable into slices and gently massage them over the lips.

For chapped lips, rub thin onion slices (or a garlic clove) over the affected areas. Alternatively you can rub honey into the lips before going to bed.

ACNE and a CURE

By – Andrew Tomkinson
- Clcik here for details of a Natural Ance Cure

Acne is a persistent disorder of the hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Some of the features of acne include black heads, pimples, cysts, infected abscesses, and rarely scarring. Acne usually occurs during adolescence in both men and women and tends to get worse for people with oily skin. Acne badly affects teenage boys but only mild to moderate forms of acne occur in middle-aged women. Acne is usually found on the face but other areas where it can occur include the neck, chest, back, shoulders, scalp, and the upper arms and legs. Most forms of acne are the result of heredity and hormonal problems and have little to do with a harmful diet or poor hygiene.

Acne usually starts in a similar way for all people. However it can take different forms and react in a particular way depending on the individual body conditions. A basic lesion called the comedo is the beginning of acne. The comedo is an enlarged hair follicle plugged with oil and bacteria which is found under the surface of your skin. When the conditions are right it grows into an inflamed lesion. When the skin produces more oil the bacteria will grow within the swollen follicle. The surrounding skin will become increasingly inflamed as the white blood cells fight against the bacteria.

There are two main types of acne which are non-inflammatory acne and inflammatory acne.

Both ‘closed comedo’ and ‘open comedo’ are forms of non-inflammatory acne. If the plugged follicle stays below the surface of the skin, the lesion is called a closed comedo. This will usually appear on the skin as small, whitish bumps. This condition is also known as whitehead. Open Comedo is what the lesion is called if the plug enlarges and pushes through the surface of the skin. The dark appearance of the plug is not due to dirt but due to the build-up of melanin, the pigmentation element of the skin. This condition is also called blackhead.

There are a number of different types of inflammatory acne. Papule appears on the skin as a small, firm pink bump. The papules are tender in nature and are usually considered an intermediary step between non-inflammatory and inflammatory lesions.

Pustules are small round lesions that are inflamed and contain visible pus, which appear red at the base with a yellowish or whitish centre. Pustules do not contain a large amount of bacteria and the inflammation is caused by chemical irritation from sebum components such as fatty free acids.

Cysts are large pus-filled lesions that are usually present deep within the skin. These cysts are painful lesions and form as a result of the contents of a comedo spilling over the surrounding skin. The cysts often leave deep scars.

Acne conglobata is a rare but serious form of inflammatory acne that develops mainly on the back, buttocks and the chest. As well as the presence of pustules and cysts, there may be severe bacterial infection.

The common symptoms of acne include persistent, recurrent red spots or swellings on the skin. These spots and swellings become inflamed and get filled with pus. They usually occur on the face, chest, shoulders, neck, or upper portion of the back. Other symptoms include dark spots with open pores at the centre, which are known as blackheads, large spots under the skin without openings, which are known as whiteheads and red swellings filled with pus, which are known as pustules. The pustules can develop from blackheads or whiteheads. Inflamed fluid-filled lumps under the skin known as cysts are also a symptom of acne.

What are natural remedies for acne? Most people will know the value of their face. The healthier it is, the more advantageous it will be for the person. In general, our confidence relies on our contentment in our physical appearance. When one thinks he or she looks good, the confidence is a lot higher.

For growing up, the growth of spots is a really major concern. For those who do not have problems involving the face, congratulations! For those who are crying over it, there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel!

Is acne your problem? Are you spending too much money for chemical remedies? Do you want to apply a remedy but you are afraid it may be harsh? The answer is to use the natural way of treating your acne. The treatment is right in your home. The doctor is right within you.

The most effective beauty tip of all times is to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. Hydrating your body will help you get rid toxins. Love your body and love your skin.

Health and hygiene will also help. Make sure that you do not leave makeup products on your skin because it contributes to clogging your pores, causing more spots and blackheads. Do not sleep with make-up on. Also, keep your hair away from your face. Hair contains oil that may create breakouts to your skin.

Wash your pillow case and towels as they are absorbent and will absorb many acne-contributors. Lastly, never pick your spots. You do not want your face to be as dirty as your fingernails.

Make sure that you eat healthy food because when you have acne you need to cleanse yourself not only on the outside but also on the inside. It will also help if you lessen your oily or fatty food intake. Eating food rich in fibre is a remedy. Moreover, in order for you to maintain a healthy skin, eating food that is considered anti-oxidants will make a big difference. Food rich in Vitamins A, B and D as well as those rich in calcium, potassium, phosphorus, chloride, magnesium, zinc, iron and sodium will do the job.

When you maintain a diet which is high in beta-carotene and zinc, it will also be of help not only as prevention but also in the healing process and anti-scarring of acne.

Beauty is skin deep but having beautiful skin will make you feel more beautiful for yourself.

You will be wondering why you didn’t learn about overcoming insomnia with natural alternatives earlier on. Learn more about how to get a good night’s sleep with simple yet effective ways in overcoming insomnia. Don’t put off your good night’s sleep any longer.

Sleeplessness and sleep deprivation? You know by this point how you are feeling without a good night sleep: tiredness, irritation and a loss of concentration are high on the list of complications for sleeplessness. You want to find your cause of insomnia and a technique to end insomnia naturally and fast.

Sleep deprivation affects us by leaving us drowsy and unable to concentrate. Even staying awake at night some nights a week can seriously impair our ability to function efficiently. Not getting enough sleep also leads to poor memory. If sleep deprivation continues, hallucinations and mood swings will develop. Also, sleeping problems are common in both psychological and physical aberrations including schizophrenia and depression, stroke, cancer, and head wounds.

Some ideas that may help to end insomnia naturally:-

If you cannot fall asleep inside twenty five minutes, just get up and do something uninteresting until you’re feeling tired. Sit noiselessly in the dark, listen to relaxing music. Do not expose yourself to bright light while you are up. Don’t take naps as this will make you tired at bedtime. If you just cannot make it through the day without a power nap, sleep less than 1 hour, preferably before 4 pm. Head off to bed and get up the same time every day. When your sleep cycle has a regular rhythm, you may feel much better. Do not exercise at least 4 hours before bedtime. Sensible exercise is recommended to help you sleep well, but the timing of the workout is vital. Exercising in the morning or early afternoon won’t interfere with your sleep.

Avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol at least 4 hours before bed. Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants that meddle with your ability to fall asleep. Alcohol may seem to help you sleep in the beginning as it slows brain activity, but you may finish up having an uncomfortable night.

Getting a good night’s sleep is as significant as having a healthy diet and exercising to keep a healthy body. A good night sleep also makes your skin look fresh. In a busy lifestyle we always try and sacrifice sleep for work but it is very important that you put aside enough hours for some good old-fashioned beauty sleep. The average person needs about eight hours of sleep in a twenty four period.

Sleep maintains and repairs our bodies and minds. Each night we cycle through three stages of sleep starting from light sleep to deep sleep, and ultimately, to quick eye movement (REM) sleep. A total sleep cycle takes ninety to one hundred minutes on average. While we sleep our brains are using vital neuronal connections that might otherwise become worse from lack of activity. During deep sleep, brain activity that control emotions, decision-making processes and social interaction stops. This enables us to maintain optimal emotional and social working when we are awake. Cell correct and cell growth takes place the fight the affects of stress and UV rays in this stage too. Therefore, deep sleep is really beauty sleep.

Sleep also helps our immune system and our bodies fight infection. The reason for this is because our immune reaction releases a sleep inducing chemical while fighting an infection. Sleep helps the body conserve energy and other resources that the immune system requires to mount a useful attack. Start your sleeplessness treatment as quickly as possible to prevent sleep deprivation.
